Activity Trainer endorsed by head of Organization for Autism Research See the full letter of support at: http://www.dttrainer.com/jos/content/view/128/178/ Dr. Peter Gerhardt, President of the Organization for Autism Research (OAR), gives his support for the work of Accelerations Educational Software (AES) to make Video Modeling practical for home and school. There is substantial research behind the use of video modeling to significantly improve learning of a wide variety of skills by individuals with autism, but the method has not made it into common practice. Patch Available for the Activity Trainer We have released the Activity Trainer version 1.0.6. This release/patch corrects a bug where landscape worksheets would not print as well as a typo in an activity description. If you are using activities with worksheets and you have version 1.0.5, we recommend you install this small patch: http://www.dttrainer.com/files/dl/at/ActivityTrainer_v1.0.6_win32Patch_from1.0.5.exe If you have an earlier version of the Activity Trainer (1.0 through 1.0.4), then upgrade to version 1.0.6 using the following link (in order to get all the new activities): http://www.dttrainer.com/files/dl/at/ActivityTrainer_v1.0.6_win32Patch.exe If you have not tried the Activity Trainer yet, you can download the full trial at: http://www.dttrainer.com/files/dl/at/ActivityTrainer_v1.0.6_win32Full_US.exe There are currently about 125 activities in our skills library. These activities are mostly at the preschool level, but even many older students with autism frequently have deficits at the preschool level. However, we are building activities up to the vocational level to cover the wide range of needs. You won’t have to wait long for more content, as we are planning another release of activities before the end of the month. Our goal is to release activities monthly for at least the next year. If you purchase the AT, you get a year of these updates! The Activity Trainer is also a great tool to create your own activities. The AT helps organize simple video models, and allows you to create more advanced activities with predefined task analysis and transitions from more to less supportive forms of the activities. Activities from our Skills Library as well as your activities (in the User Library) can be used in our computerized schedule environment to support independent use of learned activities. The Activity Trainer is a powerful, feature rich environment that makes video modeling practical for school and home.

31 More Ready-To-Use Activities for the Activity Trainer! We have released the Activity Trainer version 1.0.5. This release has some improvements and bug fixes to the Activity Trainer software, but we are also adding 31 more ready to use activities to our “Skills Library”. This release contains stringing beads, bagging parts, wiping, folding, removing staple, setting timer, non-verbal imitations – oral motor, and “how are you” social exchanges. See below for the list.

previous attempts to teach him the skill.

DT Trainer & Activity Trainer Price Increases - Effective March 1st, 2008 AES, makers of the DT Trainer and the new Activity Trainer, has prided itself on having effective, robust, and affordable products. Our goal is to keep prices low enough so that the products are cost effective solutions for a wide range of individuals with autism and other learning disabilities. Our philosophy has worked as we are in almost 700 school districts, over 70 private schools, and thousands of homes. The overwhelming feedback from customers is that our software is inexpensive and cost effective for a wide range of students. To help maximize use, we actually try to charge less than 1/10th of what comparable sized packages cost in the special education software industry. Comparably priced packages offer a small fraction of the content and robustness as compared to the DT Trainer. Other companies offer individual software packages that are equivalent to just one of our reinforcers and cost $15 to $60. Also, we have almost tripled the content in the DT Trainer without a price increase. Another overwhelming feedback from customers is that they want us to have more content to address even a wider range of educational needs and students. Customers like what we have, and would rather pay more to get more. In response, we have hired our first full time dedicated content developer to significantly increase the amount we can produce each year. Katie has been working for us part time for 5 months, but just started full time which will significantly enhance our development team. To better support our efforts, we are increasing our prices - but still with an eye on keeping the products as exceptional bargains for what they are. Starting March 1st: US Home Pricing:
