Tutorials – DT Trainer – Moving to a New Computer

You can transfer your license for the DT Trainer, along with all of your student data, to a new computer. To do this, please follow the steps below:

I. Unregister the installation from your old computer:
  • If your DT Trainer installation is version 2.1 or newer:
    1. If your computer is connected to the internet:
      • Launch the DT Trainer administration program, and select the “Registration” tab.
      • Click the “Un-Register” button.
      • Ensure that the correct authorization code is entered in the appropriate field toward the top of the screen, and click the “Process Unregister” button.
    2. If your computer is not connected to the internet, please call us at 803-403-1336, and we can unregister your installation manually.
  • If your DT Trainer installation is older than version 2.1, no unregistration process exists – please just uninstall the DT Trainer from the old computer and skip to step 2 below.

    1. Launch the DT Trainer administration program, and select the “Common Administration” tab.
    2. Click the “Maintenance Tools” button.
    3. Under the “Basic Backup / Restore” tab, click the “Set Location” button and choose where you would like to save the student data. This could be a flash drive, network share, etc.
    4. Using the drop-down menu toward the middle of the screen, select each student that you wish to back up, and click the “Backup” button.
  • If your DT Trainer installation is older than version 2.1:
