Troubleshooting – DT Trainer – Registration

Registration Information

How do I register?

If you have a version of the DT Trainer that is older than version 2.0.5, you will need to email your authorization code and machine key to register@dttrainer.com. We will process your registration manually and reply with your activation key.

If you have version 2.0.5 or newer, you can register your installation instantly over the internet.

If you have any question about registration, please email support@dttrainer.com or call us at (803) 403-1336.

Explanation of Keys and Codes

Authorization Code

Format: “AES-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx” (where the x’s are numbers). The first three characters of your authorization code may also be “DRL”, “60T”, “1YS”, “AMC”, “ITS”, “MSC”, “PLM”…
Purpose: The authorization code is created when you purchase your license from AES. This code is always associated with the same license, and is often used multiple times for registration (for example, if a computer is reformatted and the DT Trainer must be reinstalled).
Where found: Your authorization code can be found either on the front cover of your user’s guide (if you received a guide) or on the installation CD sleeve.

Machine Key

Format: Pxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (in this case the x’s are all capital letters)
Purpose: The machine key is created on your computer when you launch the DT Trainer administration program for the first time. It is an encrypted code that tells AES the date that you installed the DT Trainer, and is unique to the computer on which it is created. The machine key is used during the registration process to generate the activation key.
Where found: Versions 1.0 to 2.0.4, Versions 2.0.5 to current.

Activation Key

Format: Dxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (again, the x’s are all capital letters)
Purpose: The activation key is created during the registration process from a machine key, and will only activate the DT Trainer on the computer that contains the machine key from which it was generated. The activation key tells the DT Trainer the type of license that is to be associated with the installation (perpetual, evaluation), and if necessary, also tells the DT Trainer when the license expires.
